Symbio Networks updates brand ahead of regional expansion

April 27, 2021

Industry-leading communications software and cloud infrastructure provider Symbio Networks, part of MNF Group (ASX: MNF), has today announced a major brand update to reflect the company’s Asia Pacific growth strategy and expanded product portfolio.

The brand update sees Symbio Networks shortened to ‘Symbio’, alongside an updated logo and website, in a strategic move to differentiate the company’s capabilities from those of legacy telecom networks.

CEO of Symbio parent MNF Group, Rene Sugo, said: “Customers no longer see us as just a local voice network operator. That’s where we started, but today, our product portfolio is much wider. We’ve chosen to drop ‘networks’ from our name to remove that limiting definition and showcase the platform for growth”.

Expanded product portfolio

The update comes after the addition of a range of new products and capabilities, such as High Definition (HD) voice calling and API-powered number porting, which have fuelled major customer wins and business growth.

Founded in 2002, Symbio has grown to become a leading VoIP network operator in Australia and expanded into New Zealand in 2018. Symbio’s customers run from large global software vendors through to local telecom and ICT providers.

Today, Symbio’s product portfolio spans multi-regional call termination, virtual phone numbers and white label voice, mobile and wholesale NBN services. It also provides APIs and online tools to streamline service delivery and service management.

“We’ve been working with communication innovators for almost 20 years. This brand update is a commitment to our customers that we’ll be their trusted partner for the next 20 years. Our customers want to execute on opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region, and we’ll continue giving them the capabilities which help them do so” said Sugo.

Regional growth strategy

The rebrand, effective from today, is part of Symbio’s wider business strategy that will focus on bringing the company’s communication software and cloud platforms to Southeast Asia and will include an official launch of its services offering in Singapore later this year.

“The past 12 months have reiterated how critical reliable communications services are for business performance. The increased demand for IP communications presents an exciting opportunity for both local service providers, as well as global providers looking to enter this region, to benefit from the comprehensive range of solutions Symbio can offer”.

“Our main priority remains helping our customers compete and win in an increasingly competitive UCaaS market and enabling service providers to successfully deliver communication services at scale” said Sugo.
