Following the launch of its voice network in 2021, where Symbio was the first fully interconnected carrier to build network capabilities in Singapore after more than 20 years, Symbio has now transitioned all of these carrier interconnections to more modern SIP based interconnection. Full Sip interconnection creates a more scalable, flexible and efficient network with greater call intelligence.
"This is an important milestone for Symbio and for the Singapore telecommunications market,” said Symbio CEO and Aussie Broadband Group Non-Executive Director Michael Omeros. “By becoming the first carrier to achieve full SIP interconnection with all Tier 1 voice carriers, we're creating a network that better supports our customer needs through timely, flexible and technically sophisticated voice services. We have been working closely with the IMDA and believe they are building a stronger foundation for the future of voice services in Singapore.”
Symbio’s wholesale IP-network enables nationwide calling and number porting so customers can easily move phone numbers off legacy networks and into the cloud. This provides the freedom and flexibility to move numbers between providers to deliver advanced unified communication solutions.
"Our focus is always on making our services simpler, more reliable and more flexible for customers,” said Symbio General Manager for Voice Products (Wholesale) Jo Quinn. “This investment into our underlaying carrier network in Singapore is a step change improvement that benefits carriers, service providers, and end users alike."
